Technology makes it possible

As you know, putting is all about rolling the ball the proper distance and direction. The Putting Game was created to help you perfect distance control and directional accuracy at home without a putting green. It works because it provides not only a "directional target", it also provides a "distance target". It doesn't matter how much space you have or what kind of putting surface you have. The device’s software creates a “virtual green” (that can be set to any green speed or Stimp) with a “virtual cup” that can be set to any distance. Our patented bounce beam design and solid steel construction allows you to setup as little as 4 feet away from the device and practice stroking (and sinking) putts of up to 32 feet in length.  It’s like having a regulation size practice green in your home!
 

Detecting the ball

The device uses a unique optical triangulation-based method to determine the position of the ball as it enters the “cup” area. An infrared light beam emitted from one end of the device is received by two infrared sensors located on the other end of the device.
 

Position

By comparing the timing of the ball crossing the two beams’ paths, the ball's position is derived.
 

Speed

The precise speed of the ball is calculated by accurate measurement of the ball's transit time through the two beams of light, in conjunction with the known standard ball diameter. Timing resolution is in microseconds, providing for the ultimate in measurement precision.
 

Determining the score of a putt

The ball speed and position data, calibrated with the chosen stimp and distance, are applied to a proprietary algorithm developed by NE1 Golf Products, Inc. to determine whether the putt was made or missed. The resulting score allows you to accurately measure progress over time.
